“RetraXil has become a valuable part of my soft-tissue management protocol. It provides predictable gingival displacement and clear exposure of subgingival margins, making both scanning and restorative procedures more accurate and efficient.”
A 45-year-old female patient presented with an indirect crown restoration on a mandibular first molar (36). The existing restoration exhibited an insufficient distal margin, leading to recurrent caries and localized gingival inflammation. Following removal of the existing restoration, the tooth was prepared for a new indirect adhesive restoration. The cervical margin extended slightly subgingivally, compromising visibility and adequate isolation. To achieve predictable gingival displacement and effective haemostasis prior to digital impression, RetraXil was placed within the gingival sulcus.
Following removal of the paste, adequate gingival retraction and clear margin exposure were achieved, facilitating accurate digital impression and subsequent fabrication of the final restoration.
