cara Zirconium Dioxide
Extremely durable & biocompatible
Gingiva-friendly & plaque-resistant
Outstanding material properties, good compatibility and its tooth-shade appearance make cara zirconium dioxide the ideal material for aesthetic restorations. Although zirconium dioxide is very similar or even superior to metals in many respects, some special features must be considered during processing to achieve an optimal result.
Zirconium dioxide is a tooth-shade, inorganic, non-metallic material.
It exhibits high resistance against chemical, thermal and mechanical influences. This makes it superior to metallic materials in daily use.
Zirconium dioxide is extremely durable
Zirconium dioxide is extremely stable, rigid and fracture-resistant as well as wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant. Some constructions of up to 16 units have even already been approved.
Gingiva-friendly and plaque-resistant
The gingiva fits very snugly against the zirconium oxide and does not discolour. Even retracted soft tissue can regenerate. Plaque and bacteria hardly deposit on the smooth zirconium dioxide surface.
Zirconium dioxide is biocompatible
Scientific studies confirm that zirconium dioxide can be used safely in medical technology. The radiation dose emitted by a five-unit zirconium bridge is far less than the radiation in a daily bottle of mineral water.
Use and indications for zirconium dioxide
In general, the cara production service will attempt to realise all designs. However, Kulzer is unable to give any warranty for constructions outside of approval.
Zirconium oxide must not be placed in cases of bruxism or therapy-resistant para-functions. In the event of hypersensitivity of the patient towards zirconium dioxide, it should only be used under the strict supervision of the treating doctor.
HeraCeram Zirconia 750 – the suitable veneering ceramic
The right veneering ceramic is essential to the longevity of a restoration. In a study, zirconium dioxide crowns, which were veneered with HeraCeram Zirconia 750, show significantly less chipping than competitor ceramics.
